Hello, 2019. I’m ready for you

I’m writing my first blog post again after nearly a 2 year hiatus. It just so happened that my impetus to begin writing again coincided with the new year, but it does seem like a pretty good time to start again. Something like new beginnings, don’t you think?

I used to love writing. I do, still, in fact. Somewhere along the way I got lost in the daily grind though.

I couldn’t wait for 2017 to pass.

I looked forward to 2018, and it came and went by in a blink!

That’s not to say that there weren’t momentous occasions. The most important of all was, of course, getting married to the love of my life. It’s such an exciting journey that we’re embarking on, and one that I’m looking forward to, despite the challenges which have, and will continue to come our way. I’m positive that marriage will test my personal development, and I’m looking forward to the journey, even though I know I’d probably whine and grumble through some parts of it.

In 2019, my word of the year is “Courage”.

It’s so easy to fall into the norm and get caught up in the rat race. Sad to say, I do feel that it’s kind of a Singaporean/Asian thing that we’re just way too practical sometimes, and lose ourselves in the midst of “life”. In 2019, my hope is that I will have the courage to live my dreams and dare to make the change. I’m putting it out here at the risk of falling back into my comfort zone and not living up to what I’ve said. But I guess this increases the accountability that I have, and when I look back at this post, I hope that it gives me that little push to take that leap of faith.

2019 is gonna be an exciting one! What are you looking forward to in the new year? 🙂
